As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work
with individuals, couples and families.
By using systemic, solution focused, cognitive and behavioral therapy
approaches and techniques, together we will work toward making positive changes
that are best for you and your family.
I have 30 plus years of experience working
with individuals, families, and couples.
My goal in therapy is to help you address the issues that get in the way
from leading a content and productive life.
I understand career, family, raising children, and going through loss
and trauma. It is very difficult at
times and having a trusting therapist can be most helpful.
I received a BS degree from Northern State University in 1979. I continued and completed my Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from Northern State University in May of 1981. Following was course work to complete the requirements for AAMFT’s (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy) clinical membership.
I have had the opportunity to work in a Community Mental Health Center, a Rural Mental Health Care Clinic, and in an inpatient adolescent hospital. During those times I received valuable experiences and supervision by some of the best clinicians in the state. In turn I have been able to become an approved supervisor through AAMFT (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy).
I have served as president for the SDAMFT organization for 2 terms. During that time our organization was successful in accomplishing licensure for Marriage and Family Therapist in our state. We are qualified mental health care providers and are recognized throughout the state. The SDAMFT organization is committed to providing the best quality mental health care for the people of South Dakota and beyond.
In addition to the opportunity to be a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am a wife, a mom, a grandma, and a lover of animals. I have 3 children who are young adults and all work in the medical profession. I am most pleased with them and believe they will impact other peoples lives in a positive way.
